HotHouse’s new partnership with Australia’s flagship youth theatre company is a unique opportunity for young people in this region, offering a tangible industry pathway toward a career in theatre.
In 2026 HotHouse and Australian Theatre for Young People will provide three week-long workshops for students in Years 9 -12 from the Border Region and surrounding rural communities*.
Meeting for one week each school holidays in 2026, Launchpad Ensemble is designed for young people who are eager to deepen their acting skills and broaden their understanding of theatre making. These workshops are designed to build the foundational performance skills to shape a performance with ATYP in 2027.
Participants will work with industry professionals from Australian Theatre for Young People to explore core components of creating compelling theatre and strong performances. They’ll work on script analysis, ensemble building and performance technique, to strengthen their craft in a supportive and inspiring environment that fosters both personal growth and artistic excellence.
Addition to the holiday workshops, throughout 2026 HotHouse will provide exclusive opportunities for Launchpad Ensemble participants to attend rehearsals, workshops and performances and to connect with visiting artists.
