From the streets of Henty NSW, Seth grew up in the world of circus and began to discover that the world wasn’t so boring after all. Since starting 17 years ago, he has flipped and twisted his way through life using his unique approach. Along the way, misfits and weirdos a-like have inspired him. Professionally trained in Aerial Hoop and Trapeze, Seth loves all forms of circus and is currently a full-time coach on Wiradjuri country.
For 15 years has worked around the world as a performer, theatre maker and community artist. Following her theatre training back in her home country of Wales, Alyson has performed in the UK, Australia and Nepal. With a passion for sharing stories, as a theatre maker based in Albury Alyson works with a range of diverse communities to create immersive theatre performances that highlight the stories of communities that are not often heard.
She has been the director of Hidden Cinema Albury since its beginning in 2017, has facilitated drama programs in numerous schools around the border and is currently developing ‘Neighbour,’ an immersive theatre performance that celebrates the vibrant multicultural communities in Albury Wodonga. In 2015 Alyson was awarded the Kirk Robson Award from the Australia Council for the Arts, in recognition of her work.
RACHEAL OAK BUTLER
Proudly Gamilaroi, Racheal Oak Butler is a writer, performer, musician and self-defence teacher. Racheal has been writing for many years and has amassed a significant body of work including poetry, short stories, songs, performance and spoken word pieces.
Some of the most recent were touring a spoken word piece, ‘My Calling’, as part of the Queerstories series of performances throughout Victoria and NSW and late last year working with Ilbijerri Theatre Company as a performer in Scar Trees.
Writing and performing is fundamental to who Racheal is – and although the message is sometimes raw and traumatic, it is also unique, powerful and truthful, and goes to the heart of many key issues and experiences.
A country girl at heart who grew up a Pony-club-prize-winner, cow-pat-frisbee-slinger, Alyce Fisher is known for getting herself into some interesting situations. Quick-witted and reliably rambunctious, Alyce is an experienced performer, who studied Theatre Arts, has toured extensively with her company Theatre on Toast and adores to make audiences laugh. HARRY, COOPER, WILL – TEETERBOARD
Harry Mckoy, Cooper Ayton and Will Meager have joined forces to keep fit and showcase their incredible skills on Teeterboard for Galah Bar ON AIR.
Harry Mckoy started Circus Arts classes at the Flying Fruit Fly circus in 2004, joining the full-time program in 2007. He performed in shows and gigs all over Australia with the Fruities and plus other corporate gigs before graduating in 2018. Harry was then selected by Cirque Du Soleil to perform teeterboard and cyr wheel in Corteo touring throughout America, Canada and around Europe.
Cooper Ayton began his journey began of training, shows and regional tours with the Flying Fruit Fly Circus in 2009. By 2018, his skills gained by intense acrobatic training and performing meant that he was offered a contract with Cirque du Soleil as an acrobat Mystere in Las Vegas before graduation!
Will Meager was bouncing around with unbridled energy as a youngster which naturally led the charismatic young man to run away to the circus, and make a career out of it! Will has developed into a powerhouse performer. From partner work to power tumbling, with Teeterboard and Roue Cyr added to the mix, this powerful concoction has taken him to all corners of the world. His performing includes the Nan Jing Project for Melbourne Festival, Cavalia in Nan Jing and across China, plus touring across Europe and the world with CIRCA, Casus, Club Swizzle and Circus Oz.
ELK are an ambitious 5 piece folk-pop-rock band hailing from Albury. ELK burst onto the local scene with their debut EP ‘Night Hour’ smashing local charts. They soon followed this up with ‘Eyes on the Road’ seeing them soar onto the Triple J Unearthed charts. In 2019 ELK found their groove, playing to packed venues and seeing them open for acts such as Ruby Fields, The Potbelleez and Bakers Eddy. Their unique brand of storytelling will break your heart and tap your feet.
