Transforming literacy through drama

As part of the regional School Drama program, Murray Arts, Sydney Theatre Company and HotHouse Theatre are thrilled to announce a one-off professional learning day for teachers.

School Drama provides primary school teachers with the confidence, expertise and understanding to use process drama as critical, quality pedagogy with literature to improve young learners’ English and literacy outcomes.

This practical day will provide teachers with a range of drama-based strategies to use in their English and literacy programs. All primary teachers are encouraged to attend and no prior arts experience is necessary. Primary Generalist Teachers, Teacher Librarians, English and Literacy Specialists would benefit most from this workshop.

This program has been developed by Sydney Theatre Company in partnership with leading academic, Professor Robyn Ewing AM from the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Education and Social Work.
