WORKSHOP 1—STAGE OUR PLAY: THE CHAPEL, THE FIRE, AND THE DEAD CAT
Ignite your creativity in this week-long intensive as you work towards performing scenes from ATYP’s Foundation Commission play The Chapel, The Fire, and The Dead Cat by Madeleine Nunn.
Smoke and ash. Wood and earth. You smelt it before you saw it. When the cursed Chapel on the hill burns to the ground, the authorities have some questions. Their suspects: the high school students seen there that night. An Act of Terror? Work of the divine? Or merely an accident?
Guided by an industry professional, participants will develop a deep understanding of advanced acting and theatre practices essential to performance.
Focus areas Include:
- Voice and movement
- Scene analysis
- Objectives in acting
- Character Investigation
- Components of blocking
- Learning lines
At the end of the week, participants will share a performance of selected scenes from the play with family and friends.
