At HotHouse Theatre, we believe that everyone should be able to enjoy our work – regardless of accessibility requirements. In fact, many of our longest-standing patrons are visually or hearing impaired!

We are happy to accommodate wheelchairs, mobility aids, guide dogs and other aids.

Please advise us of your specific needs, and we will do our very best to accommodate.

HotHouse Theatre is proudly affiliated with the Companion Card Program.

The Companion Card allows people with a severe or profound disability – who require attendant care at events and venues – to attend without having to pay for a second ticket for their attendant. Companion Card holders should call our office when booking their tickets to discuss any access requirements.

For more information about the Companion Card Program and to see who is eligible to apply for a Companion Card, visit for Victoria and for NSW.

Both cards are accepted at our venue.

HotHouse Theatre is proud to partner with Vision Australia to provide audio description for a number of our performances.

Audio description, or AD, offers people who are blind or have low vision a broader understanding of what is happening visually within a theatre, television, film, DVD, museum, exhibition or other arts related productions.

It is an additional narration that succinctly paints an image of transitions, movements, gestures, props, settings, costumes and scenery woven between the dialogues.

All matinee performances on Saturday afternoons are audio described.

We offer a hearing loop service for our patrons with some hearing loss or who may be hard of hearing. Please call us for more information on 02 6021 7433.
