About

HotHouse Theatre presents A World Premiere production

Unfortunately, due to illness, Uncle Graham Simms will not be able to present Gadigal Gal as part of our Season program in 2023. Though this is sad news, Uncle Graham’s health and wellbeing is our utmost priority and as such, in consultation with Uncle Graham, we are cancelling the season in 2023.

We are working with our friends at Griffin Theatre to continue supporting Gadigal Gal and we will bring you future news of this solo spectacular from an icon of Australian drag. In the meantime, we wish Uncle Graham lots of love and a speedy recovery!

Nan Miss Koori is the definition of Deadly. Renowned as a living queer legend she is a trailblazer of Faboriginal drag and storytelling.

Graham Simms is the divine Nan Miss Koori. He is also a Gadigal Elder. He is Bidgigal, he is Dharung, he is Yuin. He is part of the oldest Living Culture in the world and has had to fight for respect and to be who he is his whole life.

GADIGAL GAL is a work that holds 53 years of practiced wisdom, that grapples with the complex intersections of self-acceptance, vulnerability, resilience, being made an outsider, having to stand alone, the power of femininity; and of loving, living and breathing your culture in a colonised country.

GADIGAL GAL is a solo spectacular blending theatre, comedy, storytelling, dance, drag and Gadigal glamour. It’s an immersive deep dive into both what it costs and what it takes to be unapologetically Proud.
