In concert @ HotHouse Theatre…
Butler, Crowley & Greenwood are the perfect musical storm. Three powerhouse songwriters, three truly unique voices, a variety of instrumental accompaniment and chemistry steeped in years of friendship. Playing a sublime mix of original, traditional, and contemporary peer compositions these three will guide you through a truly transfixing repertoire.
Racheal Oak Butler
Mix contemporary folk with a spark of vocal fire, soul and grit from well-travelled feet. Racheal Oak Butler is a Gomeroi musician, writer, actor and self defence teacher. A lifetime of being surrounded by music, with 25 yrs of solo performances and various music collaborations… such as a renegade dingo in the Capitalist Pigs 😉
Kate Crowley
Has been raising her voice her whole life. For the past 20 years it has been raised in song. A crafter and composer of compelling and potent music, Kate’s work has gained respect both locally and abroad. Drawing inspiration from the world and weather around her, these songs balance a rich atmospheric feel with an uncanny lyrical style. Her dynamic and often experimental vocal have captivated audiences across the country. Having performed extensively at major festivals and venues, Kate has also been part of a wide variety of musical projects from bands (Capitalist Pigs, ASIO Staff Party), duos, film scores (Bikes of Wrath, Mill Culture) to recording original albums (Treehouse Music 2010, Measured In Moons 2014).
Meredith Greenwood
Meredith Greenwood possesses a presence rare in the music scene. Despite the natural ease with which she holds your gaze, her songs are a startling mix of lyrical vulnerability and memorable melodies. As a songwriter Meredith’s introspective songs are equally matched by her ability to enrich a musical moment; a multi-instrumentalist offering haunting improvisation and blended harmonies.
Having played in many guises, from Beechworth band (The Blue Yonder), duo (Billy and Me), music teaching and also her solo work, Meredith has definitely honed her musical sensibilities.
